Birth Services

As a Licensed Midwife I am honored to support the transformation of your family through the birth of your baby!

Midwifery Care with Planned Homebirth

  • Comprehensive hour-long Prenatal visits in your home every 3 weeks until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly until your baby is born.  These visits include ongoing health assessments, nutritional counseling, diagnostic testing, preparation for birth and early parenting, emotional and physical support, and a lending library.
  • 24 hour availability by phone for questions or concerns throughout your care
  • Physical and emotional support as well as careful monitoring and assessment of your and your baby’s health during labor and birth
  • A second experienced midwife to be present for the birth and early postpartum
  • Support and guidance in the event of a hospital transfer
  • Comprehensive postpartum care at day 1, 3, 5-7, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 6 weeks. Hour-long in home appointments assessing your and your baby’s health, breastfeeding support, newborn care education, family planning counseling and well-woman care.

Midwifery Care with Planned Hospital Birth

For clients who have medical indications that may make out of hospital birth less safe or for those who are uncomfortable with having a homebirth you still have the option to receive comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care (in addition to the care you receive with your hospital provider.)  All of the services listed above are provided with the exception that the birth will take place in the hospital, instead of at home.

Doula Support - As Your Doula

  • I am present to help you have the experience you desire: I do not have my own agenda. I will help you to gather information, discuss options, and will support you in whatever decision you make: I do not make decisions for you.
  • I help to facilitate the loving togetherness you have with your partner and/or those you choose to have at your birth: I will not take the place of your partner but am happy to serve as your primary support if you are without this support.
  • I will provide you with continuous, caring physical and emotional support: I will not make medical/clinical assessments.
  • We will have two prenatal visits to discuss your vision for the birth, what to expect in labor, any issues/concerns/fears you may have, etc.
  • I will be available to you by phone and e-mail for consultations, support and/or referrals throughout your pregnancy and the postpartum period.
  • You will have access to my lending library
  • I will be on-call for your labor and birth
  • I will be available to you as needed during your labor, will stay with you for the birth and until you are snuggled together postpartum.
  • We will have one postpartum visit to debrief your birth, discuss breastfeeding, and make sure your transition is going well.
